Bowie sure has had a strange effect on some people. Saul Williams has created a “piece” based somehow on Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust apparently. Now, I’m not sure if this some kind of reference to Bowie per se, or, it’s Trent Reznor’s influence on Saul. Kind of hard to tell since the only overt reference to anyone else seems to be the song Sunday Bloody Sunday
I might just give this one a shot. If nothing else, I am curious.
A sidenote, Saul is doing the radiohead thingy whereby you can download his stuff either for free or make a donation. I love this. I really do. Do the right thing peeps and make this work. The sooner music isn’t dominated by the RCAs and Sonys the sooner we’ll get back to real music that makes people learn and think.

Brian Eno

I honestly don’t have a clue how to do this one right. Brian Eno. That should say it all? Problem is, it doesn’t. Especially to the younger audiences. The VH1 and MTV greatest lists never mention Brian Eno. You don’t see kids getting blisters trying to emulate Eno riffs. You don’t see classical performers comparing Eno keyboards to the likes of Bach or Beethoven. You don’t see Eddie Vedder praising Brian Eno. Hell, you don’t even see Alicia Keyes praising Brian Eno. All of them should. Here’s just a little list of Eno’s contributions that I personally enjoy a lot.
