Bowie does Scarlett Johansson?

OK, so what does an aging rocker do when he’s tired of crowd surfing and trying to one-up teens screaming mindless words to over-abused way-too-distorted chords?  Why, hang out with the hottest Hollywood babe going, of course:

That’s what Bowie is doing these days.  Folks, he’s old enough to be her grandfather.  He was nailing models before she was even born.  Now, granted I don’t think his current model-wife would allow extra-marital flings at this point, he did the next best thing I would think.  He did what he does best.  He recorded an album with her.  Now, nothing Bowie’s ever done has screamed normal.  So, he teams up with the hottest Hollywood babe going and records a couple of songs originally recorded by Tom Waits:

Now, for those unfamiliar with Tom, he sings like a real man.  Gravelly baritone.  Nothing artistic or fancy about Tom, just ballads with simple music.  Nothing glam either.  In other words, nothing like a red-hot babe or a artsy glam-rock new-wave kinda guy.  Nothing.  So, to me, this is perfect.  I’d like to catch a tune or two from this album.  And, I will.
( Is it JUST a coincedence that Scarlett and Bowie were in Spongebob flicks as well? Gotta wonder. )

I’ll admit their entire relationship and meeting makes me pretty damn jealous. My story is similar to hers in that I fell in love with Bowie because of Labryinth. I just lack the film career that allowed me to meet him on the set of “the Prestige”.

And I want to like Scarlett because I used to so much all because of the movie “Ghost World” but she’s gotten way too friendly and slutty in her photo shoots that I no longer appreciate her and wish she would go back to the way she was/seemed at the time of “Ghost World”.

Now she gets to sing with the Man? It’s not fair and I’m not looking forward to it. I think she sang in “Lost in Translation” for two seconds but recently her singing(???) was featured in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1yq0tMYPDJQ. I can’t hear her… Can you?

I’ll just have to admit I like her because she looks so dang hot. I learned a LONG time ago not to concern myself with moral or ethical standards for peeps hiding in Hollywood. They’re all loony or they wouldn’t be there in the first place. Now, I wish I could be more artsy and say I like her because she was in Spongebob, but I swear to goodness I had no clue she was even in it until I made that post. That’s what I like about cartoons! And, as far as her getting naked in front of the cameras, I’m OK with that :0 But it does suck that SHE gets to sing with The Man while we don’t. I’ll bet SHE doesn’t even subscribe to Bowienet.

It’s more the fact that she’s EVERYWHERE and doing everything in a raunchy manner so everyone thinks she’s hot and that bores me. Like everyone thinks Brad Pitt is hot and I don’t see it or get it. If she was still that girl actor you didn’t see all the time I’d be more okay with thinking she’s pretty, which she is, but then I think about that time she said something about everyone should get an AIDS test when they break up with someone because it’s courteous… Eh…

Now every time I turn around I’m seeing her tied to Bowie and she did ultimately get there by being slorey. I don’t care about the slorey persay, but it’s just easy/boring/predictable to do things that way.

Lols, I wouldn’t consider it “artsy” of you to like her because she was in Spongebob. That movie was really bad, with or without her, and that saddened me because I heart Spongebob so.

I’m with you on the bowieNet thing… But even I don’t do that because I can’t justify the annual fee when the news is free:)

Well, I don’t really see her everywhere, mainly because I don’t watch television. And, I don’t think I’ve seen any of her movies in a while either. So, I’m still OK with her. I learned a long time ago…. wait, done said that. Just smile and look good, with or without clothes, is all I ask. The less said, the better. Ignoring tv makes a lot of actoresses seem a lot smarter too.

      Ditto the Bowienet thing.

It’s the interwebs that’s my fault. And the people I work with sending me political videos, lols. The no-clothes thing is a moot point with you because we all know you love it, heehee;)

^ I see monkey! :) Did I ever mention I quite enjoy your button below? Well, I do.

:) You two are cute! I love having more Bowie freaks out there. Though I was a little taken aback when Ele used the word “obsessed” - not that I’m denying it, but the use of the word still struck me.

Ha! And you called me Labyrinth “obsessed”. Funny. http://cmrpaul.blogspot.com/2008/02/do-you-want-it.html

Sheez Jeni, didn’t know you were expecting! Guess I need to read more and work less? One suggestion, if it’s a boy, don’t name it Zowie. OK? Promise? I was tempted with mine, but luckily watched George of the Jungle and named him Brendan. ( That is the honest truth. ) Also LOVED that onesie, that is too cute. Now I am truly jealous. He does have an Aladdin Sane t-shirt, but not quite big enough to wear it ( my step-daughter got it for me, it would probably fit her better. ) Anyways, congrats!

Thanks! His name is Henry David - he’s just over three weeks old. He’s adorable and I think we’ll keep him. :)

I don’t think returns are an option, so I just kept mine as well. Am actually enjoying it a lot more than I expected. Being as I’m one and out at 40+, I pretty much have to make the most of this one. Congrats and I gotta see more pics. I’ve put a lot of mine online. But, I’ve kept the other 4,000 or so private :)

Squawk like a pink monkey bird!
