More oddities surrounding Bowie associates:
Among the clients he lists is David Bowie. Now, I’ve not done a terribly in depth search, but I can’t figure which album it was he produced. Seems like weirdness just totally surrounds Chris. I hope he’s OK. But, from the sounds of things, it doesn’t sound good.

Bowie the Bond Villain?
I have had this feeling in the past myself, now someone else has the same idea and is acting on it. Bowie playing the villain in a Bond movie?
Now, let’s examine this more closely. Would Bowie’s evil villain more closely resemble:
the aloof character of The Man Who Fell To Earth?
The cold personna of John in The Hunger?
The maniacal bad guy ( good guy? )of The Linguini Incident?
Now, I could go wondering off on the tangent I was going to, that Bowie could play the villain ala Goldmember of The Spy Who Shagged Me. However, as odd as this might sound, and I swear I’m not making all this up, that angle has already been taken:
And in typical Bowie fashion, it’s kind of bizarre in itself. From Teenage Wildlife:
This shameless knockoff cover for a DVD was released in 1999 by Reel Entertainment in Digital DVD. Billed as a “Totally Outrageous Comedy” with David Bowie and Rosanna Arquette in wacky poses. it’s really just The Linguini Incident repackaged to try and fool people into thinking it’s an Austin Powers spin-off.
The DVD itself has the original trailer for “The Linguini Incident” on it, with the title “Shag-O-Rama!” tacked on the end in place of the original title. This is also done during the opening credits. The film, as far as I know, hasn’t been altered in any way. It also has cast bios. For Bowie, it says that he is the son of a wrestling promoter, and that he began his career in 1972 with Ziggy Stardust. It goes on to pan his performances in The Man Who Fell To Earth and Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me. Are bios supposed to have misinformation and insults aimed at the actors in a film?
Hard to find online, the issuing companies don’t even have it listed on their web sites. However, Walmart in the US seems to stock copies if you’re looking for a delightfully tacky collectible.
So, apparently the loony-over-the-top-silly villain has been taken.

He could I guess play one of the even more villainous versions, like the incredibly evil character in Zoolander who coerces two male models in a walk-off to go to such extremes that I can not even describe them here.
The options are limitless given Bowie’s stage history. He could even morph into an Elephant Man version, a punk-rock version, a slick-Euro version, a drugged-up disco version. You name it.
Regardless of the personna Bowie might choose to give the villain in a Bond movie. I think he would be one hell of a perfect fit.

Bowie has heart surgery
I was originally going to name this post David Bowie ( 1947-2005-? ) ( Quick, which song was that? )
However, I would prefer this post be read by people and I doubt too many people would think to search for that. Here’s the meat of the story:
He left hospital earlier this week and is convalescing at home in New York, the spokesman added.
I am only posting this because I have seen too many references to something much worse. People have been discussing his stroke and such.
“I tell you what, though, I won’t be writing a song about this one.”
Sounds like everything’s perfectly intact and he’s doing fine now.
Get well soon David!

David Bowie Changes the World?
I am an unabashed David Bowie fan, obviously. However, this took me a little by surprise.
The magazine Uncut asked industry experts and movie and music icons to name their seminal moments from the past 50 years.
- Bob Dylan “Like a Rolling Stone”
- Elvis “Heartbreak Hotel”
-
The Beatles “She Loves You”
-
The Rolling Stones “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction”
-
A Clockwork Orange
-
The Godfather and The Godfather II
-
David Bowie “The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust”
-
Taxi Driver
-
Sex Pistols “Never Mind The Bollocks Here’s the Sex Pistols”
-
The Prisoner
-
The Wild Bunch
-
The Velvet Underground “The Velvet Underground And Nico”
-
Jimmy Hendrix “Purple Haze”
-
The Simpsons
-
Neil Young “After the Gold Rush”
-
Ramones “Ramones”
-
The Beach Boys “Pet Sounds”
-
The Who “My Generation”
-
Jack Kerouac “On The Road”
-
Joy Division “Unknown Pleasures”
That whole list is a good one. Not sure if it’s proper place in entertainment, but it’s definitely as list of 20 “must have’s”.
